Oil & Petrochemicals

ATLANTIC BUSINESS SURVEY conducts qualitative and quantitative assessments of petroleum products on board ships before loading/unloading, as well as in onshore tanks. This meticulous process covers a wide range of products, including crude oil, gasoline, diesel, bitumen, naphtha, jet fuel, chemicals, and butane gases.

ABS skilled inspectors verify the cleanliness and compliance of ship tanks before loading, as well as its emptiness after unloading. Our teams also investigate product losses, and sample products according to standard methods such as ASTM and API.

In addition to product inspection, ABS offers tank calibration services using ISO methods. The company calibrates spherical and cylindrical vertical tanks with both floating and fixed roofs, insulated and non-insulated, following ISO standards such as ISO 7507-1 (strapping method), ISO 7507-2 (optical reference line method), ISO 7507-3 (optical triangulation method), and ISO 7507-4 (internal electro-optical distance ranging method). ABS also determines tank bottom capacities using either geometric or volumetric methods, depending on the case. The company’s expertise extends to calculating tank capacity tables, ensuring accurate measurements for its clients.

Our state-of-the-art equipment is calibrated and complies with international standards for each type of intervention. This includes calibrated tools for determining the quantity of products in ship tanks and onshore reservoirs.
